Ayrshire - Glasgow - Edinburgh - Fife
The foundations of a Hybrid Extension are slightly more in depth than traditional methods. This is to support the many different Hybrid styles including metal framed hybrid walls. The foundations are the same depth as your current home and need to be approved at two stages by local authority building control. The foundation has upgraded insulation in the base compared with traditional methods. In short better insulated and deeper than traditional extensions.
Hybrid house extension walls are designed by Ayrshire Builders architects and structural engineers and manufactured in a factory offsite. The walls are not built from breeze block and facing brick like traditional extension's. The inner walls are metal framed with upgraded insulated panels. The outer walls can be either half facing brick, wood such as cedar or rendered with K render. The inner walls are made up of damp proof course, inner insulated boards that is then plastered just like any room in your house. The electrical points are already in place with trunking so no need for 1st or 2nd electrical installation. Hybrid walls are all BBA approved and exceed current building regulations.
The roof of a Hybrid comes in many styles from Lantern roofs, zinc roofs or pitched tiled with Velux windows, the options are endless. The roof is manufactured offsite and delivered in sections to join together. The roof is metal framed for strength and has upgraded insulation compared to traditional roofs offering upgraded noise cancellation.. All Hybrid roofs are fully BBA approved and comply and exceed current building regulations.
In short Hybrids are manufactured off site then delivered and constructed to save time, labour costs and mess. They are constructed in 14 days and once completed look exactly the same as any traditional extension. The Hybrid is a green extension option that saves money and saves the planet at the same time. Its is projected that within 5 - 10 years all house extensions will be Hybrids as will houses themselves. Just think back to when electrical cars first came onto the scene. Everyone said they wouldn't take off and now its becoming law and second nature.
